Violence and anger have erupted in Somolu Area of Lagos State in the last 48 hours over an alleged imposition of a candidate by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming State House of Assembly primaries.
Some aggrieved members of the party (APC) in Somolu Constituency 01 have alleged that Hon. Rotimi Olowo is being imposed on them after representing them for 16 years.
He is also seeking re-election to the State House of Assembly for the fifth term.
However, a political stakeholder in the council, Alhaji Abdullateef Majolagbe appealed to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other stakeholders to shun the idea of imposing the candidacy of Hon. Olowo on them, and consider other aspirants too.
Meanwhile, Hon. Biodun Orekoya, the former Sole Administrator of the council; Hon. Williams Lawanson, Printing Entrepreneur; Sheriff Adekoya, Businessman and Hotelier; Remi Ogbara, Real Estate icon, Babasehinde Ogunmuyiwa, and Lekan Osiyemi have all secured Lagos State House of Assembly nomination and expression of interest forms to step into Hon. Rotimi Olowo’s caps and shoes come 2023 election billed for March 2023.
