The Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, Hon. John Campos Ogundare has added more feathers to his cap as two new kings have been installed under his local council area.
The two newly installed kings are HRM Oba Soliu Mohammed Olufunmi Eshinlokun who becomes the first Olu of Sangotedo Land and HRM Oba Musilim Abiodun Ogunbo, Odufuwa 1, as the first Oba Ogudu of Ogombo Land.
Recall that these two eminent chiefs were baales of their respective communities before their elevation to the status of kings.
Islanders had gathered that for over a decade now, the two communities have clamoured for the elevation of their baales. Previous administrations of the local council area had also pushed for this to no avail. Fortunately, however, the efforts and push summarily put together under the administration of Hon. John Campos Ogundare eventually yielded result as the two chiefs got their staffs of office as kings of their respective communities on Tuesday.
Hon. Ogundare who could not hide his joy for this historical feat said in his speech that the event was indeed an honour for him being the chairman under whose jurisdiction the kings reside and rule.
He therefore admonished the kings to serve the people more than ever before and further enhance peaceful coexistence of the communiites with other neighbouring towns within the local council area.
He further said that he was confident the residents and people of Sangotedo and Eti-Osa would work with their kings to advance their communities and by extension, our beloved Eti-Osa East LCDA, respectively.
He reiterated his administration's commitments to numerous admirable and community-focused programmes created to ensure equal development of Eti-Osa East LCDA and its environs and consequently sought the royal blessing and assurance of the newly installed kings for his administration.
He wished the new kings a peaceful reign in their respective communities and prayed for the progress of Eti-Osa and Lagos State at large.
