Kidnapped Edo PDP Chairman, Aziegbemi, Regains Freedom

 Edo State's PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, has regained his freedom after being abducted by a group of armed men near his residence in Benin City. He was released by his captors during the early hours of Tuesday and returned home around 3 a.m. 


The news of his release was confirmed by Crusoe Osagie, the Special Adviser for Media Projects to the Edo State Governor, in a phone call. 


Aziegbemi, a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Esan North-East/Esan South-East federal constituency of Edo State, was abducted by gunmen who followed him in two Toyota Corolla cars on the night of Friday, March 16, 2024, before intercepting his SUV along Osaro Street around 11 p.m.
